Effortless Skincare: How to Maintain Radiant Skin Amid a Hectic Schedule
With the right approach, glowing skin can be a reality, no matter how packed your schedule is

In the whirlwind of a modern lifestyle, finding the time for an effective skincare routine can be challenging. Whether you are at a 9-5 job or working from home or even taking care of household chores, skincare often tends to take a backseat and you are left with dull and lifeless skin.

However, experts suggest that a streamlined approach, incorporating multitasking products and simple steps, can ensure your skin stays healthy and radiant from desk to dinner.

Prachi Bhandari, co-founder and Head of Research, Aminu Wellness, emphasizes the importance of products with multiple actives. “Now that we have a busier-than-ever modern lifestyle, products with multiple actives are the best way to address various skin needs—hydration, signs of aging, brightening, and glow—while requiring minimal time and effort,” she says.

A three-step approach is key: start your day with a cleanser, followed by a serum or moisturizer that suits your skin type, and finish with sunscreen. At night, Bhandari recommends a similar routine—cleanser, serum, and moisturizer—with the addition of exfoliation once a week. “Using a face wash that balances pH and hydration can remove the need for a toner entirely,” Bhandari adds, highlighting the efficiency of this regimen.

Dr. Rashmi Shetty, Cosmetic Dermatologist, Ra Skin & Aesthetics, Mumbai and Hyderabad, offers another perspective on balancing skincare with a hectic schedule. “Start the day with a face wash and then nourish the skin with oils,” she advises. Shetty suggests that a gentle oil massage can relax the skin and have anti-inflammatory effects, with the added benefit of washing away during a shower without leaving behind impurities. She underscores the importance of following this with sunscreen and moisturizer to complete what she terms the “Dawn Skincare” routine.

For the evening, or “Dusk Skincare,” Shetty recommends cleansing, followed by the application of a serum containing ingredients like Niacinamide, Vitamin C, or Arbutin. She also encourages experimenting with masks under professional guidance, to be followed by a night care routine that rejuvenates and repairs the skin.

Dr Monica Kapoor, cosmetologist and Director, Flawless Cosmetic Clinic & ILACAD Institute, champions the idea that skincare doesn’t have to be time-consuming to be effective. “In today’s fast-paced world, maintaining a healthy and radiant complexion doesn’t have to be time-consuming,” says Kapoor. She recommends starting the day with a gentle cleanser to remove impurities, followed by a lightweight moisturizer with broad-spectrum SPF protection. For those quick midday touch-ups, Kapoor suggests a hydrating mist and blotting papers to refresh the skin without disturbing makeup.

As the day transitions into evening, Kapoor stresses the importance of a double cleanse to remove makeup and pollutants, followed by a serum tailored to your skin’s specific needs—whether it’s hydration, brightening, or anti-aging—and ending with a nourishing night cream to lock in moisture.

By following these expert tips, you can ensure that your skincare routine is not only effective but also adaptable to the demands of a busy lifestyle. With the right approach, glowing skin can be a reality, no matter how packed your schedule is.
