12 unique, quirky and elegant celebrity wedding invites you may have missed
Bollywood stars more often than not decide to stay secretive about their weddings, but that does not change the amount of effort and personalisation each element of their wedding goes through, including their wedding cards.

The speculations around the much anticipated Shahid Kapoor-Mira Rajput wedding finally came to a halt when the pictures of the official wedding invitation surfaced on the Internet recently. We bring to you a list of those celebrity wedding invitations which managed to create similar buzz in the recent past:

Shahid Kapoor-Mira Rajput: The elegant wedding invite is designed by Delhi-based designer Ravish Kapoor. The invitation card was placed inside a beautiful box with an oh-so-classy white, golden and turquoise colour scheme. Although, what makes this wedding card different from what we have seen in the past is the presence of four parchment boxes, containing one potli of tea infusions each. These infusions have been done by Tea sommelier Anamika Singh who owns a store in the Shahpur Jat area of New Delhi. Apart from the tea, the invite also contains four small jars of honey too.

Arpita Khan-Ayush : With every event of her wedding becoming a raging story on the Internet, Arpita Khan’s wedding invite too was no different. The invite of the Salman Khan sibling was simple and beautiful with colours like, white, pink and golden used. The card had a floral design as its basic theme and was reportedly accompanied with cupcakes.

Soha Ali Khan-Kunal Khemu: Keeping their entire marriage a low-key affair, Soha Ali Khan and Kunal Khemu’s wedding invite too was highly secretive. A beautiful one nevertheless, the wedding invite was floral in design and had the couple’s name embossed in gold. A golden ribbon on the top of the card, made it look even better.

Pulkit Samrat-Kaira Rohira: Married to his long-time girlfriend Kaira Rohira at an elaborate destination wedding in Goa, Pulkit Samrat lived up to his reputation of being a Bollywood actor. With an extensively thought after and colourful Bollywood-themed wedding invitation, the actor gained extra brownie points from us. Their wedding was referred to as “The Knotty Affair” and had different caricatures of the couple for every event.

Dia Mirza-Sahil Sangha: The wedding invitation of the beautiful actress was extremely charming yet simple to look at. With an off white theme, the invite also had a floral design to it. A box of sweets along with the main invite made it extremely personalised.

Genelia-Riteish Deshmukh: Delhi's famous Entertainment Design Company (EDC) was responsible for designing the wedding invite of this adorable couple. The card was accompanied with customised chocolates which were hand made and had the initials of the couple on them. A wooden box containing the invite also had the letters R and G embossed on them. With three inserts of different functions, the colour theme was that of pink, golden and white.

Vivek Oberoi-Priyanka Alva: Said to be one of the costliest wedding cards in the history of Bollywood, this card was apparently made of crushed gemstones and gold. Sent out to atleast 2000 guests, the invite was entirely eco-friendly, made with handmade paper. Following a Red and orange colour theme, the weddign card was for sure one of a kind. Accompanied with chocolates, the invite came along a Limited edition of the "Ganjifa" painting (sent out to some selected guests only)

Esha Deol-Bharat Takhtani: Esha’s wedding invite was an elaborate and beautiful affair. Placed inside a cream and golden re-usable box, the invitation had the wedding details embossed in golden. Apart from the invite, the recipients also received a box of sweets, dry fruits and a series of Radha-Krishna pictures.

Shilpa Shetty-Raj Kundra: The Shipla Shetty-Raj Kundra marriage was no doubt a much talked about and elaborate event. With a theme of golden and red the wedding invitation was no less than grand and was apparently accompanied with customised chocolates.

Imran Khan-Avantika Kapoor: Probably the most unique of them all, the wedding invitation of Avantika and Imran Khan completely won us over. The quirky and colourful invitation was high on creativity, as the wedding details were printed on a sheet of yellow paper which was attached to a pinwheel. The pinwheel came inside a box along with customised chocolates, pot pourie fragrance and a Year planner.

Abhishek Bachchan-Aishwariya Rai: When the two big shots of Bollywood decided to get married, it was obvious for the nation to be focussed on every minute detail of their wedding. The couple’s wedding invite was sent in three golden boxes with their initials embossed on each. The boxes have been said to contain sweets made with Swiss chocolates, an idol of Lord Ganesha and the invite itself.

Kareena Kapoor-Saif Ali Khan : The close-knit family affair of the Nawab family managed to garner interest amongst the masses despite the absence of the expected publicity. The wedding invitation of this royal couple was simple, yet elegant with the Pataudi emblem adorning it’s top.

Bollywood stars more often than not decide to stay secretive about their weddings, but that does not change the amount of effort and personalisation each element of their wedding goes through, including their wedding cards.
