KOCHI: World Diabetes Week is being observed at Lourdes Hospital.The programme, organised in connection with the upcoming World Diabetes Day, was inaugurated by actor Meera Nandan on Wednesday.Hospital Superintendent Dr Paul Puthuran presided over the function.He introduced the main theme for the Diabetes Week - ‘Allow diabetics to speak about their disease.’ Associate director Fr Shyju Thoppil offered felicitations. Diabetologist of the hospital Dr Joison Abraham spoke on diabetes.Diabetic screening, awareness class on diabetes, free blood testing, exhibition on diabetes, and counselling on diet for diabetics and other activities were held as part of the programme.Around 150 persons participated in the camp on Wednesday. The camp being organised at the hospital auditorium will be continued on Thursday and Friday.
