City Express spoke to former president of Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industries M Satyanarayana Swamy, a resident of Jayanagar, on his morning walk in Lalbagh Botanical Garden. It is a part of our effort to listen to people and record their views on issues affecting them the most. Hope the Government officials too do so once in a while."I have been visiting the Lalbagh for many years. I am not happy with the lighting arrangements at this park. The need of the hour is to ensure as many lights as possible to make it easy for people to visit the Lalbagh in the morning.I am not happy with the power scenario in the state. Small and medium industries are in trouble due to unscheduled load shedding. I do not know why the state government fails to realise the importance of small and medium industries? These industries not only generate lakhs of jobs but also work as ancillary units for large industries. Some of the industries either incur loss or re-schedule production. If the present power scenario continues, small and medium industries will soon close down.As far as infrastructure of the city is concerned, the authorities have to make arrangements for easy movement of vehicles to help people commute. Traffic jams are a daily feature in the life of a Bangalorean. I suggest construction of more flyovers and elevated roads to mitigate traffic-related problems. The BBMP has to take up widening of roads without troubling the property owners. They should offer suitable compensation for the land acquired to widen the roads".
