CHENNAI: “We need to develop good desire and ambition in the youth to succeed in life. The moral responsibility rests not only on global and religious leaders but also on each and every individual,” said Governor Dr K Rosaiah, on Sunday, at his first public function after he assumed office.Speaking at the event organised by Sri Kanyaka Parameswari Devasthanam and Charities to felicitate  him, he said, “It is our sincerity and commitment coupled with high ethical and moral values that will lead one to greater heights and will help form a harmonious society”He was honoured and felicitated by C V Chandrasekhar, Dharmakartha and President of Sri Kanyaka Parameswari Devasthanam and Charities.Later, speaking at an Eid Milan party hosted by the committee of hosts, the governor touched upon the topic of global unrest, fittingly, on the tenth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.  “Violence and unrest that the world is undergoing can only be controlled by unity and determination,” he said. “The world is indeed undergoing a terrible tension, fraught with unrest and violence in places. This can only be controlled by unity and determination,” he said.He also lauded Dr S K Khadri, Chairman of the Committee of Hosts, for “organising such a programme to honour and support social service activities.” Dr Mayilvahanan Natarajan, VC, TN Dr MGR Medical University, Jennifer McIntyre, US Consul General, Shakeel Akhtar, Inspector General of Police-Headquarters, and former Health Minister, Dr Hande, participated in the event.
