VHP opposes aid to quake victims in PoK
Praveen Togadia has opposed sending monetary aid to PoK, but has favoured providing helps interms of medical help, construction of houses.

Bangalore The VHP on Saturday opposed the 25 million dollars monetary aid announced by India for earthquake victims in Pakistan, saying it could be misused in the (Pakistan occupied Kashmir) PoK but favoured providing relief and rehabilitation in kind.

VHP International General Secretary Praveen Togadia said that VHP was against relief in the form of cash but would not object if it was provided by way of medical help, construction of houses and taking up other relief works.

"If Maharashtra with 10 per cent Muslim population and Bihar with 17 per cent Muslims can have a Muslim Chief Minister in the past, why not a Hindu Chief Minister in J&K where 30 per cent are Hindus," said Togadia.

He added ever since independence, Jammu and Kashmir had not seen any Hindu Chief Minister.

"If the Congress was really secular ?as it claimed?, it should allow the election of a Hindu legislator as the Chief Minister rather than opting for Ghulam Nabi Azad," he said.
