Security forces killed two terrorists in an encounter at the Kathua-Basantgarh border in the Udhampur area of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday. A large cache of arms and ammunition were also recovered during the operation, which is still ongoing.
The Rising Star Corps of the Indian Army confirmed the killing of the two terrorists in a post on X. “Two Terrorists Neutralised in the Ongoing Operation at Khandara #Kathua by Troops of Rising Star Corps. Operations in progress,” the corps shared.

This development comes as the state prepares for its upcoming assembly elections in the coming weeks.
Earlier today, the Border Security Force (BSF) said that one of its personnel was injured in unprovoked firing from Pakistan in the Akhnoor sector, near the International Border, news agency ANI reported.
