HYDERABAD: The transport department is planning to fill  250 vacant posts and create 623 new posts to ease workload on its employees and improves services to the public.The RTA officials have sent proposals to the government for recruiting as many as 250 sanctioned constables posts, and 623 additional posts including five deputy transport commissioners, 12 road transport officers, 100 motor vehicle inspectors, 200 assistant motor vehicle inspectors and 23 junior assistants across the state.At a high-level meeting held at the Secretariat on Tuesday morning, transport minister Botcha Satyanarayana and finance minister Anam Ramnarayana Reddy decided to fill the posts at the earliest.The transport minister instructed the RTA officials to prepare guidelines for the recruitment process. The government has also decided to relax rules with regard to  tribal women who applied for assistant motor vehicle inspector posts. With the government’s decision, the decks have been cleared to recruit 218 assistant motor vehicle inspector posts by the APPSC.The RTA Employees Associations expressed happiness over the government’s decision to fill vacant posts and recruit new staff.
