The health of US-based Telugu techie Suresh Medisetty, who was declared braindead by the doctors has not improved on Saturday. Doctors of the St.Francis Hospital, where he is being treated, have not given an assurance of his life. He is in a state of coma in the ICU of the hospital.
“Due to lack of oxygen for a long period of time during the incident, his brain has sustained severe damage and the recovery of his brain is medically impossible,” said a representative of the Telugu Association of Greater Greenville (TAGG) in South Carolina. They held special prayers at the Vedic Center for his recovery and also started a facebook campaign by creating a page on the name of Suresh Medisetty requesting the US-based Telugus to donate money for his medical treatment. Meanwhile, his parents have decided to donate his organs to the St. Francis hospital and have taken him out of the ventilators.
Raju Medishetty, suresh’s brother and a resident of Mancherial in Adilabad district, flew to the US to meet his brother. “I will miss him. May god give his family strength and courage to sustain his absence,” said a heartbroken Raju. The 30-year-old techie became braindead on July 17 after diving into a swimming pool and hitting the floor in his apartment complex at Greenville in South Carolina of the USA.
He was rescued by a neighbour and rushed to a hospital. Though the functioning of his brain is limited, his other organs are functioning normally.
