CHENNAI: The election of M K Stalin, former deputy chief minister and DMK candidate for the Kolathur Assembly constituency, has been challenged in the Madras High Court. S Santhanakrishnan, an independent candidate, has moved the High Court to declare the election of DMK candidate KR Periyakaruppan from Tirupathur Assembly constituency in Sivaganga district as null and void. The petitioner alleged that the DMK candidate indulged in corrupt practices during the elections.
