Punjab: A suspected spy was arrested on Sunday by the Border Security Force (BSF) in Gurdaspur for taking pictures of vital installations of border check posts in Punjab.
The suspect has been identified as Harpreet singh and he was hiding in a bush when the BSF jawan managed to arrest him. The accused was conducting reccee at army posts and on key locations, sources said.
It was learnt that he managed to take pictures of Army tanks and buildings, which are crucial to the border security. Singh was reportedly wearing army uniform. His camera and cell phone has been seized.
The BSF officers later handed him over to the local police for further interrogation. His call records are being examined by the agencies.
The arrest took place almost a week after the Pathankot terror attack in which seven army men were martyred and six terrorists were killed in joint operations by various security agencies.
