BANGALORE: It seems like cons are taking Bollywood movies too seriously. Rakesh Gowda alias Rakesh alias Umesh, 23, and  his friend Varun alias Satish, 36, a realtor, were caught when they tried to be part of an act  straight out of a Bollywood flick.   Rakesh claimed that he was the son of Home Minister R Ashok and walked into P2 Box at Chinnaswamy Stadium to watch an IPL match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Rajasthan Royals on Sunday evening. Rakesh, a native of Channapatna, owns a shop in Jayanagar 9th Block. Police said that the duo had watched the match between RCB and Kolkata Knight Riders on April 10, claiming he was minister’s son. “Even on Tuesday, Rakesh had gained entry into the stadium, claiming he was Ashok’s son. There, he had approached Sunil, an official of an event management company and introduced himself as Home Minister’s son. Sunil had given Rakesh and Satish VIP tickets worth `53,000 each for free,” police said. “Even on Sunday, he managed to enter the stadium and met Sunil and got the tickets. The duo sat next to Siddartha Mallya and watched the match. In between, Rakesh started clicking pictures from his mobile phone. Suspecting his behaviour, Sunil informed the police and the duo were picked up. When questioned, Rakesh confessed he was not related to the minister,” police explained. Reportedly, Rakesh is a school dropout but is very fluent in English. The duo were arrested and remanded to judicial custody.
