State shifts 21 districts collectors in one go

CHENNAI:  The State government on Monday night transferred Collectors of 21 districts in one go. Significantly, none of them has been posted as Collector of some other district. Instead, all of them have been brought to various State government departments in various capacities. In other words, all these 21 districts will get new Collectors within a few days.Apart from these 21 Collectors, the State government also transferred six IAS officers in key departments.Surjit K Chaudhary, the Secretary, Planning and Development Department, will take over as the Chairman of Teachers Recruitment Board. R Vijayakumar, the Chairman and Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Handicrafts Development Corporation Limited, will replace Chaudhary.Girija Vaidyanathan, the Secretary, Commissioner of Maternal Child Health and Welfare and Project Director, Reproductive Child Health Project, will assume charge as Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Department.Jatindranath Swain, the Registrar of Cooperative Societies, will take over as Secretary, Cooperation, Food and Consumer Protection Department.Kumar Jayant, the Commissioner of Technical Education, will assume charge as Secretary, Public and Rehabilitation Department. V Chandrasekaran, the Director of Handlooms and Textiles has been transferred as the Managing Director of the Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board.
