Sorcerer axed to death

BHADRACHALAM: A tribal chief was  axed to death at Ringala village in Tummala panchayat of Chinturu mandal in the wee hours of Friday. According to information, Soyam Bhimaiah (50) of Ringala was found dead in a pool of blood on his cot in his home. Suspecting him to be a sorcerer, the assailants attacked him while he was sleeping. Nancharamma, wife of Bhimaiah, who tried to awake her husband in the morning, was shocked on seeing him in the pool of blood and informed the matter to their son Jogaiah who was sleeping in the next room. Chinturu circle inspector M Sudhakar said the kin of victims of Bhimaiah’s ‘witchcraft’, might have murdered him. A case has been registered. Investigation is on.
