HYDERABAD: Silver ornaments weighing nearly one kilo were stolen from a jewellery and pawn brokers shop at Kushaiguda.Though the theft might have taken two days back in Yugam Raj Jewellers, the shop owner, Goutham Chand, came to know about the missing ornaments only on Thursday.Kushaiguda police inspector V Srikanth Goud said Chand noticed that a box containing nearly 20-25 silver anklets had gone missing a couple of days ago. “He thought that he might have kept it at some other place in the shop and did not suspect the theft immediately. On Wednesday, he searched for the box and on failing to find it, he lodged a complaint on Thursday,’’ Goud said. The shop owner told police that two women came to his shop on Tuesday morning and saw various ornaments. They, however, did not purchase and left the shop. “The jewellery went missing from the same day and he suspects the women might have stolen the box,’’ he said.
