Science Forum Solves West Bengal Village's Mystery Sound, Attributes It To Carbon Dioxide
This issue couldn't be resolved unless a team from the Islampur Science Forum reached the spot.

The residents of Jibon More region, Islampur, Uttar Dinajpur, West Bengal, were recently struck with fear when they heard a mysterious sound from a house. According to a Local 18 Bengal report, the sound’s origin point was traced back to a local native named Amar Dutt’s house. Amar had built a new house and installed a pipe underneath (30-40 feet underground) as a part of the earthing system (the process of connecting electrical appliances, devices and installations to the earth). The pipe has been releasing intense air pressure for the last 3-4 days, enough to inflate a balloon or a plastic carry bag. The sound due to the air pressure became louder at night, further terrifying the citizens. This issue couldn’t be resolved unless a team from the Islampur Science Forum reached the spot.

The forum’s team conducted many experiments to deduce the actual reason behind the sound. After many experiments, the team concluded that the sound could be from the pressure of the carbon dioxide gas. After knowing about the scientific phenomenon behind their irrational fears, the natives finally had a sigh of relief. In the Local 18 visual, a member of the Islampur Science Forum can be seen explaining how the team derived their conclusions. Other natives have also assembled to see the workings of the forum and listen to the knowledgeable insights of the members.

The video shows one of the members trying to inflate the balloon with the help of the air coming out from the pipe. The balloon inflated and this led some of the members to conclude that the air could be carbon dioxide. It could be Helium as well since it is also used to fill the balloons. It is because Helium is lighter than air and it is a non-combustible gas. None of the members has expressed any opinion regarding this aspect of their experiment.

Some people are calling for an end to the Helium balloons because this gas is a non-renewable source. Once it is used up completely, there will be no way to create more helium.

What's your reaction?
