Sabotage attempt suspected in fire mishap

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Suspicion of a sabotage attempt behind the fire mishap near Theerthapada mandapam strengthened on Tuesday when the Forensic experts informed that they detected traces of inflammable material at the place.The police sources said that the Forensic experts had detected traces of diesel fuel on the floor of the makeshift shed. However, the police was not ready to confirm the possibility of sabotage attempt since there was a diesel generator inside the shed, which could have propelled an accidental fire.A senior police officer in charge of the investigation said that they would interrogate a former bureaucrat in connection with the case as his name was linked with the land, where the gutted shed was erected.
