KOCHI: The Crime Branch team on Sunday took into custody an Assistant Motor Vehicles Inspector attached to the Kozhikode Joint RTO office in connection with the sensational Paravoor sex scandal case.
The official was identified as P R Manu, 32, of Puthur, Palakkad. The Crime Branch was yet to reveal the various charges booked against him in the case.The probe team also arrested two persons in connection with the case from Pattimattom and Perumbavoor. The arrested were Renin, 23, of Pattimattom, and Liju, 30, of Perumbavoor. The sexual abuse of the 14yearold girl came to light three months ago after her mother lodged a complaint before the police submitting that her husband had forcibly taken the daughter to prostitution.

Based on the submissions made by the girl and the mother, the police registered a case and launched a probe. Though the police were able to arrest a few persons, including the girl's parents, the government handed over the investigation to the Crime Branch after there were allegations that the police were trying to help a few high profile persons belonging to film industry.
