Sudarshan has been suffering from fever for the past two days.

New Delhi: The sarsanghachalak (appointed leader) of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, KS Sudarshan, was admitted to a private nursing home in Nagpur with viral fever on Thursday night. Sudarshan underwent several medical tests, but his condition is stated to be "nothing serious".

The 76-year-old Sudarshan had been suffering from fever for the past two days. "There is nothing serious. It is just fever and he is likely to be discharged on Friday after medical examination," PTI quoted RSS leader Ram Madhav as saying.

The nursing home, Spandan Heart Research Institute, confirmed that the RSS chief was down with viral fever. Sudarshan was admitted at around 1730 hours.

A senior physician at the clinic, Dr Harshvardan Maldikar, said Sudarshan had been suffering from fever for the last two days and he was advised hospitalisation since the temperature was not coming down.

A statement issued by RSS said Sudarshan was having temperature ranging from 100 to 101 for the last two days and since it started rising again on Thursday despite some medication, he was taken to the hospital. Maldikar said Sudarshan would be subjected to tests and check-up again on Friday.

Former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and senior BJP leader LK Advani enquired about Sudarshan's health.
