HYDERABAD: It is the right time to carve out a separate Telangana state out of Andhra Pradesh, Rashtriya Lok Dal president Ajit Singh has said.Participating in a meeting organised by the Telangana Consultative Committee (TCC) here on Tuesday, Singh said he had been witnessing the Telangana movement for 60 years and felt that it was the right time now to divide the state. He said division of the state was not possible with the imposition of President’s rule in the state. The RLD was in favour of smaller states, he declared.Earlier, Telangana Telugu Desam Forum (TTDF) leaders Ramesh Rathod and others called on Singh at a hotel where he was staying. The RLD chief, also a member of the Lok Sabha, assured the TTDF leaders that he would extend his support when a discussion came up on Telangana in Parliament.Later, the TTDF held a meeting and resolved to intensify the movement. It will meet again on July 30 to assess the political situation.TTDF convener E Dayakar Rao said that a massive dharna would be organised near Indira Park here on July 30 demanding introduction of Telangana Bill in the ensuing session of Parliament. He reiterated that TTDF MLAs would submit their resignations after Assembly speaker N Manohar returned to Hyderabad from his foreign tour.
