BANGALORE: A rather innocuous question posed by law minister S Suresh Kumar to Belgaum BJP MP Suresh Angadi angered the latter and led to a tiff between the two at Hotel Ashok, where the opinions of the party legislators and Parliament Members were heard by the party high command on the issue of choosing a successor to the outgoing Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa on Saturday. As Angadi was walking out of the hotel after his meeting with Arun Jaitley and Rajnath Singh, Suresh Kumar just enquired whether “they (Angadi and others) had finished everything and was it all over”.What Suresh Kumar meant was whether Angadi finished his work with the central representatives and gave their views. However, the latter got it wrong and mistook it to be Suresh Kumar referring to the “finish” of Yeddyurappa as chief minister of Karnataka.“It is you people who finished everything. Can you win the elections without us?” an angry Angadi asked Suresh Kumar. However, MP Ayanur Manjunath and party general secretary C T Ravi rushed towards Angadi and told him that he got the question wrong. This incident may have happened accidentally, but it only proved the anger and disappointment running deep among the Lingayats after Yeddyurappa was asked to resign as chief minister.
