BELLARY: Union Minister of Labour and Employment Mallikarjun Kharge expressed concern over the increasing trend of opportunistic politics. Addressing press persons in Bellary on the sidelines of his campaign for the Congress candidate, Kharge said, “Greed for power and money has been the root cause for politicians resigning any time, thus forcing byelections on people. Such people and the concerned government should be taught a lesson,” he added.Expressing hope that the Congress candidate would win the byelection, he said, the Congress was never involved in power politics. “We subscribe to the ideas of popular democracy and thus follow the rules in a democratic country.”Reacting to the statement by NDA leaders that they are not involved in black money, Kharge asked senior BJP leader L K Advani to speak on corruption, which, according to him, has engulfed the state government. He also asked the NDA to expose corruption in the state BJP in the upcoming Parliament session.
