Hyderabad: The Police broke YSR Congress chief Jagan Reddy's 5-day-long fast late on Thursday night and shifted him to a government hospital. The Police have said that his condition is now stable.
The leader had declared an indefinite fast inside Chanchalguda jail where he was housed, to protest the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. His mother's fast too was broken by police last week.
His health deteriorated, Jagan was shifted to the Osmania General Hospital around 11.50 pm in a bullet-proof vehicle amidst heavy security from the jail after his health had deteriorated.
Jagan's mother YS Vijayamma and other party leaders rushed to the jail and subsequently to the hospital. Amid reports that Jagan may be shifted to hospital, a large number of supporters had gathered at the Chanchalguda Jail on Thursday night even as police tightened security around the jail and barricaded roads near it.
