Bangalore: A self-styled pastor has been arrested after the woman he recently got married to, discovered that he was a 'much-married' man and complained to police.
Police said Vijay alias Vijay Joseph (40) used to visit houses to offer prayers claiming that he was a pastor.
During such visits and after befriending the family, he used to tell them that he was a bachelor and wanted to marry. Parents were beguiled into giving their daughters in marriage to Vijay, police said.
Vijay had married Rani Mary of Coimbatore in 1989, Rajani in 1994 and Jayanthi in 2007, police said.
On September 11, 2007 he married Pamela, a resident of Shantinagar. However, Pamela discovered that her husband had married earlier and complained to police, following which Vijay was arrested on January 17.
