Another fine weekend of English theatre awaits Kochiites at the JT Pac, on Oct 12, 13 and 14.

Friday’s play is Classic Milds collection of five short pieces, written by master playwrights, including Tom Stoppard and Neil Simon. The evening consists of: A Separate Peace (by Tom Stoppard), in which a man checks into a hospital and refuses to leave.

Sorry, Wrong Number (by Lucille Fletcher), in which a simple cross connection gets quite complicated.

The Still Alarm (by George Kaufman), in which a hotel is burning down, and two guests decide to have visitors.

The Open Door (by Alfred Sutro) , in which two people finally come face to face with forbidden feelings.

A Defenceless Creature (by Neil Simon), in which a troubled woman with weak ankles brings a bank to it’s knees.

Together, they promise to make up a wonderful and funny evening at the theatre. The plays feature Prerna Chawla, Adhaar Khurana, Siddharth Kumar, Faisal Rashid, Lucky Vakharia and others.

Spunk, on Saturday (Oct 13) promises to be a quirky and entertaining play. Directed by Siddharth Kumar, the play premiered in January at the Writers Bloc Festival in Mumbai. Brijesh Arora has a gift. His body produces special semen. Now whether this is a miracle or not, depends on your point of view. For Brijesh, it could keep him going till fame and fortune comes calling. For Rhea, it could help her maintain the custody of her daughter. But for Anjali, it could be mean much, much more. The play features Amol Parashar, Malaika Shenoy, Geetika Tyagi and others Sunday’s play ‘Some Times’ is about Paramjit Singh Duggal aka Pammi aka Doggie aka Parmeetay who has problems bigger than his pet names.

His mother wants grandchildren. His father wants communism. His boss wants way too much and pays too little. His girlfriend wants love, which is a concept he is not too familiar with. And he owes a mysterious man called Joseph some money.

But he has his friends. And top class weed. And an affinity for whiskey. And a night life that would put Batman to shame. And because of all this, he has very little time. The play’s cast include Karan Pandit, Sarang Sathaye, Chaitnya Sharma, Kashin Shetty, Shikha Talsania and others.
