Jaipur: The anti-terrorist squad of Rajasthan police has detained one more person in connection with the bomb blast in Ajmer dargah. The accused Chandrashekar was picked up in Shahjahanpur of Madhya Pradesh on Friday.

He is the second person to be detained as another accused Devendra Gupta was arrested in Ajmaer on Friday. A court has remanded him to 12 days in police custody.

Police say Gupta purchased the SIM cards for the mobile phone, which triggered the blasts on October 11, 2007, killing three and injuring 20 people. He is alleged to have links with the Hindu hardline outfit Abhinav Bharat.

The bomb blast took place at Ahat-e-Noor of the Dargah on October 11, 2007, just before Magrib prayers when the devotees were breaking Ramzan fast. It was only three days for Id-ul-Fitr. As usual, the suspects turned out to be Muslim terror groups.

The prime suspect then was the Bangladeshi outfit Harket-ul-Jihad-e-Islami (HuJI). There were two bombs in all and only one of them went off killing two persons on the spot and one later in the hospital. In all 15 persons were injured.

The sleuths seemingly got some clue on the links from the SIM fitted on the bomb which did not work. Though no one was arrested then, about a dozen Muslims -- Imams, Maulanas and madrasa teachers -- were detained and intensively questioned. All of them were later released.

Congress demands probe

Meanwhile the Congress has demanded a probe into the alleged links between Abhinav Bharat and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

"RSS has a dubious past and present -from Mahatma's murder to Malegaon blast and now arrests in Ajmer blast. One thing is clear that the role of Abhinav Bharat, their relation with RSS should be checked," says Congress Spokesperson Manish Tiwari.

The party has also raised the issue of one senior BJP leader seen sharing stage with the Malegaon blast accused Sadhvi Pragya in a video footage.

"It seems that those who talk about nationalist culture and nationalism, their acts seem like of a terrorist. It needs to be thoroughly probed," adds Tiwari.

The RSS, while agreeing to the demands for an inquiry has called Congress' statement as one attempting to malign the image of the organisation.

"RSS is a respected organisation. Such statements are nothing but an attempt to malign the image of RSS. There should be a proper inquiry but we should not jump to conclusion,” says Ram Madhav, senior RSS leader.
