Mumbai: After actress Priyanka Chopra slammed Mallika Sherawat's 'regressive' comment at an event recently, starlets Sherlyn Chopra and Poonam Pandey have criticized the actress on Twitter.
Mallika had been drawing a lot of flak ever since she gave an interview to Variety magazine at the recently concluded Cannes films festival and commented on the state of India. Calling the Indian society 'regressive' and 'hypocritical', Sherawat went on to claim that how she faces problems whenever she visits India.
Starlets Sherlyn Chopra and Poonam Pandey took to twitter to slam Sherawat and stated that they wouldn't be able to work in India had the society been regressive.
Pandey tweeted, "It was only due to the 'Regressive' India that Malika became a movie star(sic)". On similar lines Sherlyn tweeted, "Had India been "regressive" & "depressing", people such as myself would've been outta work..Why endorse a prejudicial opinion of INDIA???!!!(sic)".
Incidentally, Sherlyn was also at this year's Cannes to promote her new film 'Kamasutra 3D'. The three actresses have been in news more for their controversies than their performances in films. Time and again, they have been able to grab the headlines for making controversial statements.
