BANGALORE: Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda said that the state government is not under any pressure on matters relating to appointment of Lokayukta.“I have written to the presiding officers of both the houses of Legislature as well as to leaders of Opposition of the Assembly and Council, as per the rules. I will also write to the Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court to take forward the process of selecting the Lokayukta. I am hopeful that we will be able to zero in on a person in about 10 days,” Sadananda Gowda told reporters here on Tuesday. He refused to comment on the controversy surrounding the appointment of Upa Lokayukta as two PILs have been filed in the Karnataka High Court. “The matter is sub-judice. I will not comment. The government will obey the High Court’s verdict,” the chief minister added. “Sometimes, we need to take the burden,” Gowda said when asked if he is feeling burdened at handling 16 departments.
