Nagam seeks resignation acceptance

HYDERABAD: Nagarkurnool MLA Nagam Janardhan Reddy on Friday filed a writ petition in the AP High Court seeking a direction to the Assembly speaker to accept his resignation to the post. Nagam along with three other TDP MLAs submitted his resignation on July 3. He personally met the Assembly staff on July 24 and 25 to get his resignation accepted.As the speaker rejected his resignation, Nagam approached the High Court for justice. “I went to the speaker’s office 10 times. But they did not accept my resignation. As an MLA it is my right to submit resignation. The speaker has acted in an unconstitutional manner over acceptance of my resignation,” Nagam told Express.As a last resort, Nagam filed the petition in the High Court.
