Mumbai: The 12th Mumbai Film Festival (MFF) starting on 21st October will open with David Fincher's The Social Network, the film's distributors, Columbia Pictures, said on Sunday.

Based upon the book "The Accidental Billionaires" by Ben Mezrich, the movie is about the the founding of the social networking website Facebook and comes with the tagline 'you don't get to 500 million friends without making a few enemies'.

The story revolves around Harvard undergraduate and computer programming genius Mark Zuckerberg, who on a fall night in 2003, sits down on his computer and heatedly begins working on a new idea. In a fury of blogging and programming, what begins in his dorm room soon becomes a global social network and a revolution in communication.

Six years and 500 million friends later, Zuckerberg becomes the the youngest billionaire in history but for this entrepreneur, success leads to both personal and legal complications.

Releasing in India on 12th November, the movie features an ensemble cast that includes Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield, Justin Timberlake, Brenda Song, Max Minghella, Rooney Mara, Rashida Jones, and Armie Hammer.
