Protesters interrupted the debate on a development project.
Mexico City: State representatives came to blows on Monday in the Mexican state of Nuevo Leon.
The fist fight broke out over a proposed infrastructure project that has the state's two political parties split wide open.
Protesters who support the construction of a tunnel in a neighbouring town interrupted the debate on the project.
The National Action Party was trying to repeal a tax plan to fund the project, saying it contained irregularities.
At least six legislators brawled for several minutes which led to the cancellation of the session.
The protesters, supported by the Institutional Revolutionary Party, chanted "yes we can" as the President of the Congress called a recess.
