A formidable quartet of Mumbai’s most gifted youth.A formidable quartet of Mumbai’s most gifted youth, Raxit (vocals/samples), Rahul (guitar/samples), Siddharth (bass) and Harsh on drums have stumbled upon something unique, merging electronic with indie and post-punk styles.A post generation X resonance that invokes the spirit of The Cure, carries the melodic charm of the Smiths and echoes the played down grungy mood of The Smashing Pumpkins — Medusa was one of four bands in India that was selected to be part of Soundpad, a project organised by the British Council, where the band recorded two tracks with legendary producer John Leckie (Radiohead, Pink Floyd, The Verve) at Yash Raj Studios in Mumbai.In 2009 Medusa performed at the Great Escape Festival in Brighton and continued their UK tour to Cardiff, Oxford, Liverpool and London. What sets the band apart from the others in the circuit is the fact that they concentrate on creating and improvising on originals rather than just playing covers of other bands. The fact is rather proven by the huge fan-base the band has managed to gather. Medusa have also released a full length album titled Advisory and their latest song Beep Off got featured on Great Indian Rock X compilations CD which was released by RSJ Records, the in-house record label of the New Delhi based Indian Rock magazine, Rock Street Journal.
