The Lt Col was allegedly caught in a honeytrap by a woman in Bangladesh and was later blackmailed by Pakistan's ISI.
New Delhi: In what can snowball into a major controversy, the Indian Army has ordered a Court of Inquiry (CoI) against a Lieutenant Colonel who was allegedly caught in a honeytrap by a woman in Bangladesh and was later blackmailed by Pakistan's ISI.
The Army Headquarters have held back his name from the media.
The officer was allegedly asked by the ISI to spy for Pakistan. The officer reported the incident to the Indian High Commission in Dhaka and he was immediately recalled to India.
The CoI against the officer is being headed by a senior officer. As per Army Rules, establishing any such intimate relations with other than permissible people is prohibited and is a punishable offence.
