UP: 'Monkey Attack' Foils Man's Bid To Rape Six-Year-Old Girl In Baghpat, Accused On The Run
After the incident, the UKG student narrated her ordeal to her parents and told them that the monkeys had "saved" her from the accused

The timely arrival of a troop of monkeys purportedly foiled a man’s attempt to rape a six-year-old girl at Baghpat in Uttar Pradesh. The UKG student, who later narrated her ordeal to her parents, told them that the monkeys “saved” her.

The incident took place in Daula village of Baghpat on September 20. The accused, who was booked under relevant sections of the POCSO Act, is now on the run and the police have launched a search to nab him.

According to the police, the accused lured the child to an abandoned house, undressed her and tried to sexually assault her when suddenly monkeys arrived on the scene. Scared of the aggression shown by the animals, he ran away leaving the girl behind, the police said.

The accused was captured in CCTV cameras installed in the village, which showed him taking the girl with him. The police are making efforts to identify the accused from the footage.

The police said he is a resident of another village. He persuaded the girl to come with him after he spotted her playing outside her house, they said.

They further said he held her hand and first took her to the street near a religious building and then to the abandoned house, where he tried to rape her. The girl told her parents that he threatened to kill her and her family members if she resisted him, they added.

After the purported monkey attack that saved her, the girl ran home and told her parents about the incident, the police said. Her family reached the police station and lodged a complaint.
