CHENNAI:  Students from across Tamil Nadu recently appeared for the short listing interviews of the Fair & Lovely Scholarships to pursue their dreams of higher education. For most candidates, it was  memorable experience, as they met the eminent Chennai panelists comprising  Khusbhu Sundar  (actress), Dr Priya Selvaraj- (well-known gynaecologist), Madhu Vasanthy (Director and Head CII, Tamil Nadu), Dr Fatima Vasanth (Principal, Madras School of Social Work,) Professor Parameswaran(Dean, SRM University), Prof. Chandrasekharan (Principal, Govt Fine Arts College) and social worker Sargunapandian.Khusbu Sundar said, “It was a completely special and enriching experience to be a part of the Fair & Lovely Scholarship initiative. It feels good to know that the scholarship truly provides insightful support to the candidates, and goes beyond just providing financial support. It provides guidance, direction and even emotional counselling for girls who come from far flung areas of Tamil Nadu.”Fair & Lovely Scholarships are awarded to women with aptitude and drive. They are awarded to students who  harbour the ambition to carve a place of pride for themselves in society, but do not have the financial strength to realise their dreams. Scholarships of upto Rs. l lakh are awarded to these deserving young girls from across the country, for any graduate, post-graduate and doctorate courses within India. Fair & Lovely Foundation has awarded scholarships to over 1,000 deserving girls since its inception in 2003.This year, the Fair & Lovely Scholarship enters its Ninth year.
