Islamabad: A Pakistani court on Monday put the cap on the controversy over the alleged demolition of a Krishna temple in Lahore by disposing off as withdrawn a petition in this regard.
It was disposed off by Lahore High Court after Om Parkash Narayan, Secretary General of Pakistan Minorities Welfare Association, withdrew the petition following clarification that the temple was not demolished as alleged earlier.
The petitioner, through his counsel submitted that he had filed the petition due to some misunderstanding and wanted to withdraw the case and the court allowed him to withdraw the plea, state-run APP news agency reported on Monday.
The court earlier stayed the construction of the commercial building after Narayan alleged that the temple had been demolished and the building was being constructed in its site.
Subsequently, Pakistan Government denied the report with a clarification that temple was intact and the building was being constructed at another property located in a different street.
