Kerosene: Centres move draws flak

KOCHI:The Union Government’s decision to decrease the share of kerosene distributed through the PDS has drawn flak from the Kerala Matsya Thozhilali Aikya Vedi ( TUCI) . The decision at present is to reduce the State’s share to 10,016 kilolitres.According to TUCI members, this move is a huge disregard to the community of fishermen given their high dependence on kerosene.Such a step is expected to drastically affect the sector, given the heavy consumption of kerosene in the out-board engines of fishing boats,the Vedi pointed out.
