Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on Thursday met President Pranab Mukherjee over the JNU sedition case. Speaking to mediapersons, the Congress leader said that the party would continue to fight for the rights of the students, adding that that an institution should not be branded as anti-national.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and a media delegation is also slated to meet the President over the issue on Thursday.
This comes a day after a JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar, who has been arrested on sedition charges, was produced in Patiala House court amid violent protests by lawyers. They had even attacked the JNUSU president inside the court premises.
