New Delhi: Director Subhash Kapoor's court room drama 'Jolly LLB' passed what film trade analyst Taran Adarsh called the 'Monday Examination' to make a four day-total of Rs 14.41 crore.
"Jolly LLB passes the 'Monday examination'. Collects 1.90 crore, which is 38% decline from Friday numbers. Fantastic. 4-day total: 14.41 crore," Adarsh tweeted on Tuesday.
In the opening weekend, it collected the following overseas amounts: New Zealand NZ$ 17,061 (Rs 7.63 lacs), Fiji FJD 7,291 (Rs 2.21 lacs), UAE $178,000 (Rs 96.44 lacs), Pakistan $38,000 (Rs 20.58 lacs), Australia A$22,106 (Rs. 12.43 lacs).
Adarsh said Jolly LLB fared well in UAE, but was weak in Pakistan, Australia, NZ and Fiji. The weekend total stood at $326,000 (Rs 1.77 crore).
It seems 'Jolly LLB' is going to be a commercially successful venture. The word of mouth publicity and mostly positive reviews are working in favour of the film.
Said to be made on a small budget, 'Jolly LLB' is about a struggling lawyer Jagdish Tyagi aka Jolly who comes to Delhi in search of a better future.
