New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Monday gave temporary relief to police officers who investigated the Jessica Lall murder case in 1999.
The court said it convicted the main accused Manu Sharma, Vikas Yadav and Amardeep Singh Gill on the evidence collected by these officers.
It said to probe their conduct now would actually cast aspersions on the High Court's order.
The court had earlier taken suo motto cognisance of newspaper reports which blamed Delhi Police officers for dereliction of duty.
This led to the acquittal of all nine accused by the trial court in February 2006.
A special investigation team had in its report doubted the conduct of senior officers who had probed the case in 1999.
