CHENNAI: Spelling out clearly her political ambitions in the national arena, AIADMK general secretary and Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on Friday said that the party would be part of the next government at the Centre to be formed after the 2014 Lok Sabha elections and exhorted the party cadre to prepare for the LS elections right from today.“The time is fast approaching for the AIADMK to make great strides in national politics. The two leaves will blossom and flourish in places beyond Tamil Nadu,” Jayalalithaa said in her concluding remarks at the general council meeting of the party held at suburban Vanagaram.Recalling the support extended to the BJP government at the Centre in 1998, Jayalalithaa said, “True to the meaning of the first two words of the party anaithinthia (meaning - all India), the party had played a big role in making BJP the ruling party at the Centre for the first time in 1998 and A B Vajpayee became its Prime Minister. We had proved ourselves as a national party then itself.“Now, it is the right time for strengthening ourselves further to become the force to determine who will be the next prime minister of the country…. And it is most certain that we (AIADMK) will also be part of the (Central) government,” she said.The AIADMK chief said party cadre should not be complacent thinking there was no urgency, as Lok Sabha elections were two years away. “We still have the responsibility of realising many more golden eras in politics. If we complete them perfectly, we will be the deciding force. At that time, without causing any harm to the sovereignty of the country, we can facilitate an atmosphere wherein decisions to ensure the rights of Tamil Nadu can be taken without any loss to the State. If the AIADMK’s flag has to unfurl in Delhi, the cadre should act realising their responsibility,” she added.
