HYDERABAD: The tussle between director-general of police V Dinesh Reddy and his senior in the 1977 batch of IPS, Umesh Kumar is all set to take a legal turn.Umesh Kumar has decided to take legal recourse with regard to charges levelled against him by Dinesh Reddy and is all set to move court.Umesh Kumar was transferred from the post of director-general of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) to chairman of the Godavari Valley Development Authority recently following the arrest of former journalist T Sunil Reddy, who is alleged to have forged the signature of an MP to malign the image of DGP V Dinesh Reddy.According to sources, Umesh Kumar is likely to request that the Sunil Reddy case be handed over to either the CBI or the probe conducted under the supervision of a senior officer other than Dinesh Reddy and the latter told not to deal with the case.He is also likely to request a direction seeking that Dinesh Reddy furnish a full and complete statement of all movable and immovable properties acquired or sold by Reddy or any member of his family.  Sources said he will also request directions for an enquiry against Dinesh Reddy on certain petitions filed against him from time to time by various persons.Umesh Kumar was transferred from the ACB following the arrest of Sunil Reddy, who reportedly confessed that he acquired details of properties belonging to Dinesh Reddy’s wife at the behest of Umesh Kumar.
