Indian Army gets 106 officers after Passing Out Parade of 7th batch of OTA Gaya

The passing out parade (POP) of the seventh batch of trainees of the Officers' Training Academy (OTA) in Gaya was held on Saturday morning.

The trainees passed out of the OTA on Saturday after completing one-year-long programme in basic military training for technical entry scheme officers and special commissioned officers from lower ranks of the Indian Army.

The Ministry of Defence termed the POP as a "moment to cherish" as it published the photographs of the event on social media.

A total of 106 Cadets of the first Technical Entry Course (TES), who completed their basic military training from this academy in June 2012, passed out and got commissioned as officers.

In addition 48 Special Commission Officers got commissioned into the Indian Army and 64 Cadets of Technical Entry Scheme Serial 31 proceeded to various engineering colleges of the Army to pursue their engineering degrees from military engineering colleges at Secundarabad, Mhow and Pune.

Cadets who excelled in the training were also honoured with various awards, of which the Sword of Honour award was presented to Wing Cadet Captain Pankaj Kumar Atri.

Gold, silver and Bronze medals as per order of merit were awarded to Wing Cadet Captain Sandeep Gupta , Wing Cadet Captain Pankaj Kumar Attri and Platoon Cadet Captain Abhinav Kumar Sinha respectively.

The passing out cadets participated in a parade, which culminated with the Passing Out Course stepping on the shimmering stone of the ‘Antim Pag’ ( the ‘Final Step’) who were then administered the oath by the Adjutant of the Academy. The badges of officers’ rank were then placed on the shoulders of the newly commissioned officers by their parents and close relatives.
