Rajat Jayanti Nagar, Mumbai: At the BJP National Executive meet on Tuesday, Former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee said that the language of foreign affairs is difficult for him to understand.
"What should I say on foreign affairs? The resolution on foreign affairs is difficult. I don't understand it because the subject is such. The language is also special," Vajpayee said.
"I am not joking. The resolution's language has its own charm," he said when invited to speak on the foreign policy resolution, which was later adopted.
"The issues on the foreign policy front were becoming serious. What policy should we have towards Pakistan—friendship, caution or both," he said.
He added that the foreign policy had to be formulated by maintaining balance as well as by exercising alertness. The National Executive should have allotted more time for discussion on the foreign policy resolution.
