Hyderabad: A 15-year-old girl was allegedly forced into prostitution by her mother, sister and brother-in-law for money, police said on Thursday. The minor girl, who managed to escape from her house in Yakatpura of Old City on Wednesday, approached the police and lodged a complaint with the help of NGO People's Union of Civil Liberties (PUCL), Falaknuma police inspector M Surender said.
Police recorded the statement of the girl wherein she accused her mother, elder sister and brother-in-law Mohammed Akbar of forcing her into flesh trade.
A case of rape has been registered under relevant sections of IPC and the trio has been charged under provisions of Immoral Trafficking Act and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, the police officer said.
"We have some credible information and will soon catch the accused, who are now absconding," he said. The victim earlier told media that her mother and brother-in-law allegedly forced her into prostitution for the past one year and she was sent to Goa, Pune, Mumbai and other areas in Hyderabad for money.
The victim also alleged that she was beaten up by the family members. She managed to escape from their house on Wednesday, the girl claimed. A probe in the case was on, police added.
