KARIMNAGAR/KURNOOL/NALGONDA: All the major reservoirs in the state are full following huge inflows on account of heavy rains in the state and  the states upstream.Srisailam is receiving good inflows from Maharashtra and Karnataka.  The inflow from Jurala to Srisailam was 2.47 lakh cusecs on Sunday. The water level at the Srisailam dam was 884.70 feet on Sunday as against the full reservoir level (FRL) of 885 feet.   As a precautionary measure, officials lifted ten gates of the dam there and the outflow was 3.64 lakh cusecs, Srisailam project assistant engineer Sudhir Babu said.  The Tungabhadra dam in Kunrool district too was receiving good inflows. The water level at the dam reached the maximum of 1633 feet, forcing the officials to release 1.4 lakh cusecs into the Srisailam reservoir. The Nagarjuna Sagar Project (NSP) has received major inflows in the last few days and the water level at the dam was recorded as 575.40 feet on Sunday. The inflow is 3.46 lakh cusecs while the outflow is just 55,013 cusecs since the reservoir is not full yet. The full reservoir level of NSP is 590 feet. If the inflows continued to be heavy the level would reach FRL and some gates of the dam would be lifted on Monday, officials said. At present, all the eight hydel power units are generating power.Godavari river too is in spate. The Sri Ram Sagar Project (SRSP) authorities are maintaining the full reservoir level (FRL) of 1,091 feet (capacity 90.313 tmcft). The inflow at SRSP on Sunday was 70,000 cusecs and the outflow 50,000 cusecs. It is receiving heavy flow from Nizamsagar, local catchment area and the Vishnupuri reservoir in Maharashtra. According to project authorities, the SRSP received a record level 30 tmcft of water between August 24 and 28. The crest gates have been lifted. The authorities are also releasing 7,000 cusecs water from the flood flow canal and 7,500 cusecs from the Kakatiya canal to the Lower Manair Dam (LMD) in Karimangar and 500 cusecs from the Saraswati canal.  The overflowing SRSP has brought cheers to the farmers of Nizamabad, Adilabad, Karimnagar, Warangal and Nalgonda districts who have hopes of raising crops in over 9 lakh acres.Authorities are expecting that LMD will reach FRL within one week. With the mid-Manair dam incomplete, water in the flood flow canal is being diverted to Moolavagu at Vardavelli which carries it to LMD.
