HC turns down petition of suspended professor

KOCHI: The Kerala High Court on Monday dismissed a petition filed by PK Pokker, suspended professor of Philosophy, Calicut University and former director of Kerala State Institute of Languages, challenging the suspension order issued by the Vice-Chancellor of Calicut University.Pokker was suspended from the post of professor alleging financial irregularities in the conduct of an international book fair in Kozhikode by the Institute of Languages in 2007.Justice T R Ramachandran Nair held that the Vice-Chancellor had acted within his powers.
