PUDUCHERRY: The Puducherry police, on Monday, got five-day-custody of Mohamed Ismail Sheik, the Jharkhand man who was arrested in fake note currency case, for interrogation.Judicial Magistrate-II Uttamaraj granted five days custody after the police produced him before the Judicial magistrate and the police had time till 5 p m on Friday. Immediately after getting custody, IGP J K Sharma interrogated Ismail Sheik for about an hour. During the next four days NIA team is also expected to come and question Ismail.Meanwhile, a 10-member CID team is in Chennai trying to gather clue on the five associates of Ismail Sheik including the gang leader Jamidar Sheik and associates Abdul Rahim Sheik, Mithun Sheik, Shabbib Sheik and Shafique Sheik who are currently at large.The five SIMs of these accused persons have all been acquired in Chennai, but the address given for getting the SIMs has people who deny acquiring SIMs for those numbers, though some of them have a SIM from the same service providers, sources said. After getting some links about the accused, teams will go to Malda and Jharkhand. Jamidar Sheik obtained fake notes with face value of `2.5 lakh along with five others and came to Puducherry.
