Good retired judges aplenty

BANGALORE: Union Corporate Affairs Minister M Veerappa Moily said that there is no dearth of good retired judges for the Lokayukta.He said here on Saturday that people across the country have a good opinion on the Karnataka Lokayukta. “Eminent people have held the post; the institution is a ray of hope to those fed up with corruption.” Alleging of a conspiracy to tarnish the image of the Lokayukta, the minister said, “The Lokayukta and CBI, which are fighting against corruption in the state government, need the support of everybody.”On the government’s insistence to appoint Justice Bannurmath as Lokayukta, he said: “I fail to understand the motive behind the decision.”
