A memorable tour of the city in a Cessna comes with a fair price tag, though. But if you are game for it, it isn’t too expensive. Just `2,500 for half-an-hour.Presented by Wings Aviation Pvt. Limited, a fully integrated aviation training and a maintenance, repair and overall services provider, Hyd On Wings, provides a joy ride for people interested in exploring the city the aerial way. Captain Anwar, an assistant flight instructor at the Wings Aviation Pvt Ltd, who flies the Cessna 172 part-time, says, “A 30-minute-long ride will take you across incredible landscapes, monuments, palaces, lakes and all of Hyderabad’s high-rise buildings. The organisation offers non-stop rides throughout the day, starting from the Begumpet airport, covering the Charminar, Birla Mandir, Golconda Fort, Hitec City, Hussain Sagar, Necklace Road, Buddha Statue and Falaknuma Palace.” The 30-minute ride costs about `2,500 per head and can be booked on all the days, anytime between 9 am and 6 pm. The flight is limited to two people in the rear seat, along with a single pilot. And not surprisingly, a majority of those who seek this experience are students, particularly those keen on pursuing a career in aviation or just flying enthusiasts. “A lot of students come to us to experience the whole feel of being in an aircraft and learning how to fly it. Many even join the academy after their experience here,” Anwar says.Talking about the demand from customers opting for a ride at Hyd On Wings, the captain replies, “It depends, actually. There is no fixed number as sometimes people try and take out time for this during weekends, or some come on week days as well. It has been picking up slowly, and now we have about five customers weekly.”
